6 USELESS THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU'RE MAD
Sure, we all want to do crazy things when we're angry, but there are some things you just shouldn't do -- and often make things worse. YourTango.com offers 6 things you shouldn't do when you're angry ...
1. Writing a note. OK, you might not like face-to-face confrontation, but leaving an angry note is passive-aggressive ... and annoying.
2. Updating your Facebook status. Posting an angry status is just like writing a passive-aggressive note, except that the rest of the world can actually see it.
3. Breaking things. It might feel good -- for a second -- but afterwards your left with, well, broken stuff.
4. Pretending nothing happened. You can't fake that you're angry -- so stop trying.
5. Retail therapy. Spending a bunch of money is another temporary fix. You'll just be left with guilt or buyer's remorse afterwards.
6. Eating. Taking your anger out on a pint of ice cream, a bag of chips, or a bottle of wine only ends up hurting you in the long run.
10 THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE IN HER CAR

8. Umbrella
7. Cell phone charger
6. Reusable shopping bags
5. Dog treats, spare leash
4. Snacks (with a long shelf life)
3. Money (can you say parking meter?)
2. Good book (Not to read while driving, of course)
1. GPS unit
The Causes Of Catchy Songs |
According to a new study from the University of Montreal, 98 percent of the population has, at some point, been "infected" with a song they just can't seem to get out of their head. Researcher Andreane McNally-Gagnon calls the phenomenon "earworms" and found that earworm infections last longer with musicians than with non-musicians. Also, it occurs when subjects are usually in a positive emotional state and keeping busy with non-intellectual activities such as walking, which requires little concentration. Here's a rundown of some of the songs most often mentioned in this study as being so catchy, that they stick in the brain: · "Lady Marmalade" -- Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil' Kim and Mya · "Dancing Queen" -- ABBA · "The Final Countdown" -- Europe · "We Will Rock You" -- Queen · "Hey Jude" -- The Beatles · "Don't Worry, Be Happy" -- Bobby McFerrin · "I Will Survive" -- Gloria Gaynor |
Money Tips For Teens |
Summer means a lot of different things to different kids. Being out of school is cool. So is spending time at the beach and hanging out with friends. But, some kids are stuck working summer jobs, either out of necessity or because they want the freedom that having money in their pockets gives them. Because summer jobs are often a teen's first experience with paychecks, there are many lessons to be learned. Habits developed now might just stick with them for the rest of their lives. If they do the right things in the next couple of months, it might mean the difference between having a little money saved for them in fall -- or starting the school year broke. Here are some basic things to consider as the paychecks start to come ... 1. Make Deliberate Purchases: Every time you buy something, whether it's something you really need, or just something you want, just slow down and realize what the purchase is going to do to your bottom line. 2. Set a Goal: Maybe it's a car or college. It's much easier to save when you have a target in mind. 3. Pay Yourself First: Save the first 10% of every paycheck before spending money on anything else. (Parents can encourage this kind of savings by matching a teen's savings.) |
Have a great day!
